University of Chicago Library Orientation

Learn about Library collections, services, and resources that are essential for UChicago students.

Finding Ebooks

Do you want to know if the Library provides access to a book online? Start with the Library Catalog. The Library Catalog searches for items that the Library owns (print, media, or online), but you can  limit your search to our ebook collections in just a few steps.

Scan & Deliver

If you only need a chapter or two of a book, you can use our Scan and Deliver service to request a free scan to be sent to you.

Paging & Pickup

If you are on campus and are interested in obtaining a print book, DVD or other items from the Library's collections, our Paging & Pickup service may be an option. While our spaces remain closed, the Library has a paging service that provides materials from at Regenstein for pickup by appointment  in the outer lobby of Regenstein.

You can request items as needed through the Library Catalog, and the Library will fill up to five requests per patron per day. Our goal is to make materials available within three business days.

To enhance the safety of this process, items will be checked out to you by staff before pickup. You will be required to wear masks, observe social distancing, and display their ID when picking up material.
