Open Access publishing (OA) allows free, online access to research articles and books. Many journals offer this option to authors for a fee, commonly called an article processing charge (APC). This is usually referred to as Gold OA
The Library has entered into agreements with a number of publishers that allow UChicago authors to publish open access in their journals at no cost to the author. This page highlights those most relevant to business and economics.
Another option for authors is known as Green OA, sometimes also called self-archiving. Green OA allows authors to post an accepted manuscript available on a personal web site or an institutional repository. Knowledge@UChicago is available for Green OA.

Author accepted manuscript maybe be posted in Knowledge@UChicago upon acceptance and must include DOI of the published version
Submitted or accepted manuscript may be deposited in Knowledge@UChicago
Either the published PDF of their article or the final accepted version of the manuscript after peer review may be deposited in Knowledge@UChicago 12 months after publication. If shorter embargo is required, the accepted manuscript may deposited
