Find Articles in Business and Economics

A guide to the resources for finding articles in these subjects

Getting Access at Publisher Sites

You may find articles at publisher web sites through Google Scholar or have them suggested to you. Our subscriptions use your network address to determine whether you are an authorized user, so going directly there when off-campus usually presents a paywall. We have several tools to help you get access, which are described on our guide to off-campus access.

LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. It works with our FindIt service to identify publisher websites where the Library has licensed access. Because it uses FindIt, you can be sure that you are able to access an article, even if you aren't using a link from the Library. Learn more and get a link to install it on the LibKey Nomad guide

VPN

Virtual Private Network (VPN) software creates a secure connection to the campus network and gives you access to all resources that are limited to campus access. It requires you to install and configure software rather than using links in your browser.

ProxyIt!

The ProxyIt! bookmarklet will reload a page to use IT Services proxy server. Install this button in your browser to get access to Library resources from off campus.

  • In Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, drag this ⇒ ProxyIt! ⇐ link to your bookmarks toolbar.

Once installed, anytime you go to a web page of one of our electronic resources, click the ProxyIt! Button and it will reroute the page through the proxy server so that you can login and access the material. You must have JavaScript enabled for the bookmarklet to work.

ProxyIt! will only work if the site you are on is part of the Library's subscriptions. We recommend using LibKey Nomad instead, as this will link you to other sources if we don't have access at the site you are visiting.
