PoetriaNova 2.0: A CD-ROM of Latin Medieval Poetry (650-1250 A. D.)Call number: CDRom PA8122.P638 2010 Mansueto.
POETRIANOVA 2 is a collection of medieval Latin poetry produced in Italy and Europe between the 7th and the 13th centuries. An archive of the great Roman poetical tradition (archaic, classical, and late ancient). Both archives cover the extensive literary domain that goes from the Saliari Verses to the Carmina Burana, from Livius Andronicus' Odusia to Albert of Stade's Troilus, from Plautus and Terentius to the XIII Century elegiac Comedies for a total of 485 authors. A uniquely easy, intuitive query system, that now, in this second edition, makes also use of a semi-automatic identification of many graphic variants, allows for maximum flexibility in consulting and adapting access to the most varied needs. The program is available in Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish. An Italian and English language manual in hard copy accompanies the CD-ROM. In comparison to the first edition, POETRIANOVA 2 includes 110 new authors, 138 new works and 168,000 new verses; it makes use of a metric typology recognition, new search options, including comparison between keys, and new results display options. The transition to a multi-platform environment (Mac, Windows, GNU/Linux) is an important technical innovation.
