Using Newspapers on Microfilm

MicrofilmAccessing Newspapers on Microfilm

To locate specific newspapers on microfilm in our collection, search the Library Catalog. Many other newspapers may be available to you from the Center for Research Libraries or other institutions via interlibrary loan services.

Viewing Microfilm

The Library's newspapers on microfilm is housed in the Microforms Collection on the 3rd Floor of Regenstein Library. Microfilm readers that both print and scan are available on the 3rd floor and Mansueto Library (for microfilm borrowed via interlibrary loan).

Locating Specific Articles

With the exception of some major papers, few newspapers available on microfilm are indexed.  Without indexing, you may need to scan newspapers by date to find a specific article. Check the Library Catalog to see if a specific newspaper index is available.
