HeinOnline's Author Profiles include a list of articles in HeinOnline written by the author, citation metrics, and photographs, biographical information, institution affiliation and links to social media accounts, if desired.
If you have articles in HeinOnline, HeinOnline will automatically create a basic author profile.
Searchers in HeinOnline can click on an author's name from search results or from the table of contents to view the Author's Profile page. You can set up alerts to advise you when new work added to HeinOnline cites your work. Other users can set up alerts to advise them when new work of yours is added to HeinOnline.
If you want to edit your own Author Profile you first need a MyHein account that uses the email address found in your Author Profile. If you don't already have a MyHein account, here's how to create one:
To edit your Author Profile:
HeinOnline and ORCiD are integrated. What does that mean? Once you connect your HeinOnline Author Profile with your ORCiD, a link between the two accounts will be created. With the integration with ORCiD, you can see works from HeinOnline on your ORCiD author page, and works on your ORCiD author page will appear on your HeinOnline Author Profile, capturing your books and interdisciplinary scholarship. Please note that, as of November 2025, the ORCiD integration will not affect HeinOnline author rankings or statistics. See HeinOnline's "What is ORCiD?" blog post for more information.
For instructions on how to register for ORCiD from your HeinOnline Author Profile and link it, visit this webpage.
