Nodong Sinmun is the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the most prominent daily in North Korea. It was established in 1945 under the name “Jŏngro (Correct Path)” and adopted its current title after merging with “Jeonjin (Advance)” in 1946. The paper communicates party policy and leadership positions, with a central focus on ideological control and party organization. The front page always features articles about Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, or Kim Jong Un, while subsequent pages cover domestic and international political, economic, and cultural news. Most editions consist of six pages, but special issues may extend to nine or ten pages. Rodong Sinmun is subject to strict censorship, distributed only to state institutions and party members, and is considered the most authoritative newspaper in the country.
