Rules and Community Standards

While the rules and community standards may vary from house to house, some are universal:

  • Tampering with fire safety equipment (including sprinklers!); possessing fireworks, firearms, other explosives or weapons
  • Going on the roof of any residence or dining hall
  • Propping outside doors, tampering with locks/messing with building security
  • Physically attacking or threatening physical attack of other residents
  • Throwing objects from the window of the residence halls (no matter size or weight!)
  • Pattern of violation of community standards
  • All bikes must be stored in the bike room. You are not allowed to bring your bike up to your rooms.
  • Candles and incense are not allowed in student rooms nor are pets unless they can live underwater
  • No smoking of any kind in the building--for the purposes of the policy the courtyard is part of the building—noise policies apply there too
  • Alcohol is not allowed in public spaces (i.e., anywhere that is not your dorm room) and illegal drugs are prohibited
