Access the main UChicago Library Medicine Guide for additional resources
The Clinical Librarian Service at the University of Chicago equips clinical teams with evidence-based research and enhances access to information to support informed decision-making in patient care. As part of this service, the clinical librarian conducts literature searches to identify resources to answer patient care and/or clinical decision- making questions.
The clinical librarian is embedded within five teams, participating in patient rounds and morning reports to deliver this service in real time. These include two pediatric general medicine teams (Maroon and Silver), two adult general medicine teams, and the newborn/mother baby unit.
Outside of rounding, the clinical librarian service is available to all specialties within UCMC via email or consultation. The clinical librarian will provide 3-6 articles to answer your question within 48 business hours.
The clinical librarian answers questions related to therapy, diagnosis, prognosis, etiology, guidelines, and any additional areas related to clinical care.
When possible, please provide HIPAA compliant clinical context to aid in answering your questions.
