Korean Films in the UChicago Library

UChicago library currently has about 800 Korean DVDs and videos.  If you would like to search Korean films, click the link above. In the Library Catalog, use the advanced search for more precise results. Please use the drop-down menu for call numbers, years, or title search. When using the advanced search under "choose a category", select "dvds, videos, etc."

CEAL Film Library

The CEAS Film Library is one of the largest East Asian DVD collections in the United States, comprising over 5,000 titles from China, Japan, and Korea. It includes historical films, documentaries, television series and contemporary cinema. Many of the films are imported from overseas and are difficult to find in the U.S. Films are available for check-out free of charge to any current University of Chicago student, staff or faculty member. CEAS Associate Members may also borrow films.  

Borrow and return in Room 310, 1155 E. 60th Street (Monday-Friday 11:30 AM-4:30 PM)

 

CEAS Film Library Catalog  

To search the online film catalog, use the "Advanced Search" function to narrow film entries by language, director, subtitles, etc. Write down the CEAS catalog number so you can find it on the shelf when you arrive. If a film is currently checked out, the catalog listing will read "Not Available."

Films in Other Libraries

Search WorldCat to identify films held at other libraries. Many videos and dvds can be borrowed from other institutions in the same manner as books.

Please click the link below. Select the advanced search, and under "Subtype Limits/Any Format," limit to DVD or VHS. Use the "Find It (online, in the library, ILL)" link within any record to place an Interlibrary Loan request.
