Visiting the University of Chicago Library

The Library welcomes visitors to its spaces and to consult its collections. This guide provides an overview our our library collections and services to help you during your visit.

Regenstein Library Maps

Regenstein Library is seven floors. Entry is on the 1st floor for both Regenstein and Mansueto Libraries. A and B Levels are located below the first floor.Regenstein Library Map

Study Spaces

Mansueto Reading Room

The Library has a variety of workspace, zoned for specific uses. Check signs in your study area for to identify which zone you are located in. 

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are bookable only by current students, faculty, and staff at the University of Chicago. You may use rooms when they are not reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

The A-Level Collaborative Study Space offers drop-in group study space and is open to all.

Day Lockers

There are 62 day lockers on the A-Level of Regenstein, 14 of which are equipped with outlets for charging laptops and mobile devices.

  • Day lockers are available for short term use during the day only.
  • Lockers must be emptied before the A Level closes at the end of the day.
  • Items left in day lockers after closing will be removed.
  • Lockers may not be used to store items that may be a health, safety, or security concern.
  • The Library is not responsible for loss or damage of any material stored in lockers.

Vending

Vending machines are located in Regenstein in the ExLibris Café. Additional vending is available on Regenstein's A-Level.

In Crerar Library, vending is located on the lower level. Access via the staircase in the building's entryway.
