Library Computers

Library computers are available in each campus library. The most computers are located on Regenstein Library's 1st Floor.

Visitors who wish to use the University’s wireless network or Library computers, or who wish to visit for more than a few days should bring a current, government-issued photo ID.

Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Photocopying and printing will be unavailable to visitors beginning Saturday, December 14, 2024.

The copy/print/scan machines in libraries will be replaced with new equipment that supports a new University printing system which will eventually support all users. However, the timeline for implementation for visitors is currently unknown.

Please plan on alternatives to Library copy/print/scan machines during your visit.

Library Scanners

All Library users will have access to scanning equipment, which can be used to save files that can be printed elsewhere. Regenstein’s 3rd floor reading room has an overhead book scanner as well as a flatbed scanner in the northeast corner (Microforms Collection). Library visitors will need to request a computer login from the Regenstein Circulation desk in order to use scanning equipment. Portable USB drives to save files are available for purchase in a vending machine located on the A Level.

You may also use personal devices, such as smartphones and cameras, to scan material.

Printing Options Outside the Library

The Chicago Public Library offers printing at all of its locations.
