Creating Links to Library Resources

Information on creating durable links to books and articles

DOIs

A DOI or Digital Object Identifier is the most reliable way to link to an online document. These are permanent links that ensure access, even if a document is moved. Many publishers display these as part of the citation.

Copy that and include the proxy prefix when inserting a link in Canvas.

In some cases, the publisher's link will include the proxy server information.

Journals Hosted on Ovid

Ovid provides links to articles, but makes them difficult to locate. Find them under the Tools Menu, using Email Jumpstart

Ovid Tools Menu

Click that link to open a menu for emailing the link. Highlight the text of the first link. The second link goes to the article PDF, but doesn't always work correctly. Copy this link for pasting into your document.
