How do I find books?

Basic Searching

The Library Catalog offers a basic keyword and browse search by default. Below is a brief video on how to locate items in the catalog using these two methods.

Advanced Searching

The video below will provide an introduction to using advanced search features for exploring Library collections.

You can browse the catalog by title, author, subject, and call number. When using the "Begins With" search function, keep the following in mind:

  • The order of words in your search must reflect that of the title (e.g., "The Illiad of Homer" and not "Homer's Illiad")
  • Search for authors by their last name, then first name (e.g., "Lewis, C.S." and not "Clive Staples Lewis")
  • There are no spaces between the letters and numbers in call number
