An overview of Zotero, a free citation manager.

Unlimited Syncing and Storage

The Library provides access to Unlimited Storage for UChicago users on Zotero's cloud services for syncing, backups, and saving PDFs. Any Zotero user with a UChicago email address associated with their online account will get unlimited storage on Zotero.org. You can use any UChicago email including those ending in @uchicago.edu, !chicagobooth.edu, @uchospitals.edu, and @uchicagomedicine.org email.

If you currently use a Zotero account with a different email address, you can update your primary Zotero email address to benefit from the institutional unlimited storage. We recommend adding a second email address to retain your library should you move to another institution at a later date.

  1. Go to zotero.org
  2. Log in with your current email address and password.
  3. Go to Settings / Manage Email Addresses
  4. Add your UChicago email address as a secondary email address and save.
  5. Set your UChicago email address the primary address for your account.

If you wish, you may remove the other email address from your account. However, we recommend keeping a non-UChicago secondary email address, as this will allow you to continue to access your online Zotero features if you ever leave the University of Chicago.

Once you have made these changes, be sure to go to Zotero / Preferences and update your email address and password.

FindIt! with Zotero

You can setup Zotero to use the Library's FindIt! service to locate full text of articles.

Step by step:
