The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) produced a comparison list of prices from 123 cities globally. They recently announced they were ending this product and offered us the chnace to purchase the entire archive. This is now available to current UChicago students, faculty, and staff.

It is one Excel file, covering the years 1990 - 2024, although all years are not available for some cities. Prices are listed in local currency, but include the exchange rate to U.S. dollars at the time of the survey. Many different prices are covered, including food, drink, and housing. But it also includes day-to-day goods and services, such as dry cleaning a man's suit or the cost of six tennis balls. We hope you'll find some interesting ways to use this dataset
