Games in the Library

Video Games at UChicago Library!

We hold video games at the John Crerar Library, on the basement level where the circulation desk is located.

To find video games, you can search from our Library Catalog using Advanced Search, and then selecting the location to "Crerar Video Games."

We have over 600 video games in our Library collection (Crerar Video Games); these are located at the Circulation Desk on the lower level (basement) of the John Crerar Library.

Our video game collection spans over 26 consoles, not including handheld consoles in addition to that. Consoles can be checked out at the Weston Game Lab (WGL) on the first floor of the John Crerar Library.

*Note: While we do have Colecovision games in our collection, the MADD Center/WGL does not currently have a working console for this.

Weston Game Labs at MADD

The Weston Game Labs (WGL) under the umbrella of the Media Arts Data Design Center (MADD), has a strong collaborative partnership with the Library.

The video games are located at the circulation desk of the Crerar Library, while the consoles live at the MADD Center/WGL. In order to access the ability to check out consoles, simply check out their check out their Canvas page to go through prerequisites for checking out consoles.
