Modern editions

There are many excellent series of modern editions of primary sources related to various themes in this course. Here are a few examples.

Camden Society publications
The Camden Society was a text publication society founded in London in 1838 to publish early historical and literary materials, both unpublished manuscripts and new editions of rare printed books.
Church of England Record Series
Founded in 1991, the Church of England Record Society publishes editions of primary sources (including diaries, letters, etc.) from all periods of church history.
The Books and Manuscripts of John Dee, 1527-1608
This is the first publication in the series Renaissance Man, the Reconstructed Libraries of European scholars, 1450-1700.

English town histories

Regional historical societies have been compiling volumes of local records since the early nineteenth century. There are several ways to locate these sources.
