TOXNETTOXNET (TOXicology Data NETwork), managed by the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program (TEHIP) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), is a group of freely accessible and searchable databases that can be used separately or in combination to locate toxicology data, literature references, and information concerning environmental health and toxic release of chemicals. It can also identify chemicals that cause specific effects, and provides links to PubMed®. TOXNET includes the following databases: ChemIDplus, HSDB® (Hazardous Substances Data Bank), TOXLINE, CCRIS (Chemical Carcinogenesis Research Information System), DART®/ETIC (Development and Reproductive Toxicology/Environmental Teratology Information Center), GENE-TOX (Genetic Toxicology), IRIS (Integrated Risk Information System), ITER (International Toxicity Estimates for Risk), LactMed—Drugs and Lactation Database, Toxics Release Inventory (TRI), Haz-Map®, Household Products Database and, TOXMAP--A database providing numerous chemical synonyms, structures, regulatory list information, and access to structure and nomenclature authority databases used for the identification of chemical substances cited in NLM databases.
