The SSMP collects, preserves, digitizes, researches and screens home movies made by residents of Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods.

Films are available for check-out free of charge to any current University of Chicago student, staff, or faculty member.

Faculty and students are welcome to borrow from the film library.
