Homebase provides a large, national employment dataset sourced from its free employee scheduling and time tracking tool used by 100,000+ local businesses. Participating businesses are primarily owned and operator-managed within the restaurant, food & beverage, retail and services industries.

Access to this dataset has been facilitated by the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation at Chicago Booth.

Homebase provides a large, national employment dataset sourced from its free employee scheduling and time tracking tool used by 100,000+ local businesses. Participating businesses are primarily owned and operator-managed within the restaurant, food & beverage, retail and services industries.

Data Content Examples

  • "Hours worked" is calculated from the hours recorded in Homebase timecards.

  • "Locations open" is based on whether or not a business had at least one employee clock-in.

  • "Employees working" is based on the distinct number of hourly workers with at least one clock-in

  • "Business type" may include segments such as Home and Repair and Beauty and Care. **Note that the dataset is more heavily weighted towards Food & Drink and Retail businesses
