Course Reserves will be made available online via Canvas.
To provide more accessible and equitable access to course materials for students, the Library will continue to provide primarily digital course reserves. In limited circumstances, when we are not able to provide digital versions of requested materials or when the number of full-text requests per course exceeds ten items, the Library may place materials on physical reserve.
For more information, visit Course Reserves Setup.
To begin, you must have a Canvas site for your course. To request a site, go to courses.uchicago.edu.
Once you have a course in Canvas, log in to Canvas with your CNetID. Select your course.
Once in your course, choose "Library Reserves" in the left menu.
For detailed instructions, see Linking Canvas to Library Reserves.
The Library will make every effort to provide electronic access to course reserve materials. We will continue to purchase electronic copies whenever possible and will explore other methods of providing access to materials online.
The best way to request materials for courses, including streaming films, is through Library Reserves on your Canvas course site.
If you need a book or article to prepare your course (and will not be assigned reading) that is not available through the Library, please request a copy through Interlibrary Loan.
We are always happy to receive Purchase Suggestions from any of our patrons!
