Reciprocal Borrowing for UChicago Students
Faculty, students, and staff at the University of Chicago can access and borrow materials from two Hyde Park seminary libraries.

Theological Libraries in Hyde Park
- Paul Bechtold Library @ Catholic Theological UnionStrengths: Roman Catholic history and practice. Located at 5401 South Cornell Ave.
- Learning Commons @ Chicago Theological SeminaryStrengths: Congregational history and LGBT studies.
The JKM Library closed in June of 2023. A large portion of its contents has been added to the UChicago Library collection. Each item has a record in our catalog and can be paged by any University of Chicago Library patron.
Religious and Theological Studies in Chicagoland
- Asher Library @ SpertusStrengths: Jewish Studies, ancient through contemporary, including audio and visual materials
- Assocation of Chicago Theological SchoolsMany of these Chicagoland schools have libraries that are strong in denominational and doctrinal histories not collected at the University of Chicago.
- Billy Graham Center Archives @ Wheaton CollegeThere are strong collections in evangelicalism at Wheaton College's Buswell Library, Billy Graham Center, and Marion E. Wade Center. While we do not have borrowing privileges at Wheaton, you may contact the appropriate library staff to see if you can access their collections.
- Newberry LibraryMany important collections relevant to the study of Religion. Open to the public.
- Wiggin Library @ Meadville Lombard Theological SchoolStrengths: Unitarian Universalist history and theology, including rare books
