Books about Plays, Playwrights, Theater, etc.

Search in the Library Catalog to find books at the UofC. Use WorldCat to discover books we don't own.

Tips:

Use subject searching to look for books about a topic or playwright. In the Library Catalog or WorldCat, names must be [last name], [first name]. For example :

  • Beckett, Samuel
  • Pinter, Harold
  • Vinaver, Michel

Look for key subject headings, such as "criticism and interpretation," "dramatic production" or "dramatic works." For example :

Use topical subject headings to pinpoint specific topics. For example :

  • Experimental theater
  • Experimental theater -- History -- 20th century
  • Theater audiences
  • European drama
  • Theater of the absurd

(You can combine subject headings most easily in WorldCat if you use the "more like this" link.)

Ebooks in the Hathi Trust are listed in the Library Catalog. French universities are also beginning to publish ebooks, for example :

Actes des journées d'études doctorales Artaud, Beckett et Blanchot, Université Paris Diderot - Paris 7, 2012. (Travaux en cours No 8)

Articles about Plays, Playwrights, Theater, etc.
