BrowZine

Information about the BrowZine service for accessing journal content

Setting up the App

The first time you open the app, you will be prompted to choose a library. Select the University of Chicago Library. You will then be prompted to enter your CNetID and password. BrowZine stores these on your device in an encrypted file.

You are also given the option to create a sync account. This is optional and can be done later if you like.

Syncing Devices

Syncing allows you view your bookshelf and new issue alerts on multiple devices. It will also sync which journals you've marked as read.

To enable syncing

  • Create a BrowZine account. Do this in the settings by tapping on BrowZine Account. You can use any email account. You'll receive a confirmation email.
  • Open BrowZine on each device you want to sync and log in. You'll need to open a confirmation email for every device.
  • Your account is now set up to sync.

Citation Services

You can export citations from the BrowZine App to EndNote, Mendeley or Zotero. This requires an account with those services.

To export:

  • Open an article
  • Tap the Share Icon.
  • Tap the service you want to use. You will be prompted to sign into a service, if you haven't already done so.
  • Go to Settings, Citation Services if you want to log out of your citation management service.
