The University of Chicago Library provides access to a wide variety of ebooks in the social sciences. You may locate these ebooks searching the Library Catalog.
Because the Library provides access to ebooks from a variety of vendors and publishers, downloading methods and policies vary.

The Library subscribes to two different collections of ebrary ebooks, and policies on downloading vary. To download an ebrary book or portion of a book, you must first sign in with your ebrary account (sign up for a free account).
Unfortunately, there is no way to tell when viewing a book's record whether it is available for full download for 14 days or whether the 60-page limit applies. For more information about downloading see the ebrary Support Center pages on downloading chapters or pages as PDFs and downloading entire ebooks.
You may download only one page at a time from Safari ebooks using the Print function. See details.
Safari Books Online permits only two users at a time. If you are unable to access an ebook, try again later or ask a librarian for assistance.
You may download a single chapter at a time.
You may download complete ebooks as PDFs.
