Using the Catalog
Here are some strategies for finding images of virtually anything using the Library Catalog.
- For a general image search, use the BEGINS WITH option, select subject from the drop box, and enter one of the following search terms:
exhibitions
photographs
caricatures and cartoons - Use the subject "pictorial works" in an ADVANCED KEYWORD search, for example:
children of immigrants -- america -- pictorial works
argentina --19th century -- pictorial works
latin america -- social conditions -- pictorial works - Using the BEGINS WITH option, select subject from the drop box, and enter the phrase "___in art," for example:
slavery in art
Images

Film
- Complete list of videos held by the LibraryLatin American film-- both feature films and documentaries-- is well represented in the Library. Refine your results to films in a specific language, or by geographic region (such as Mexico), topic (human rights), or format (dvd or vhs).
