Finding a Book on the Shelf

You have located a book in the Regenstein, Bookstacks with the call number: PS3551.5.N257U53 1999.

Step 1: Locate the Library.  This book is in the Regenstein Library in the Bookstacks.

Step 2: Click on the Map/Guide link next to the location to open a map displaying where the book is located in the Library.  The map will list the floor and show where the specific call number range is shelved.  In this case, the PS call numbers are located on the 3rd floor bookstacks in Regenstein.

Please Note: If you send a list of call numbers to yourself from the catalog via email or text, the map links are not available. Call number bookmarks and signs are available in each library to help direct you to the right location. .

Step 3: Go to the floor where the book is located, and confirm your location on the maps posted on that floor. Once you find the PS section in the stacks, read your call number to locate the book.  

PS3551 The numbers following the letter(s) are read as a whole number (three thousand five hundred and fifty-one). PS3551 would come before PS3650.
.5 If there are additional numbers immediately after the whole number, you should treat them as a decimal. PS3551.5 would come between PS3551 and PS3552.
