Canadian Law and Legal Research

Encyclopedias and Dictionaries

Legal encyclopedias are an excellent way to get a detailed overview of a specific area of the law. Luckily, Canada has two excellent encyclopedias - the Canadian Encyclopedic Digest and Halsbury's Laws of Canada, both of which are available to D'Angelo users. The entries are helpful to understand the basics of the law, how it operates, and the statutory and case law bases upon which it rests. Both are written on a subject-by-subject basis by different authors, so it is useful to consult with both volumes to gain the widest base of knowledge.
