What does the Library Catalog Search?
Search the Library Catalog to see what items the Library has in its collections, including:
- Books (print and ebooks)
- Films (DVDs, videos, etc.)
- Recordings (CDs, records, etc.)
- Journals, magazines, and newspapers (print and online)
- Music scores
- U of C dissertations
- Some databases and websites
- Some archival holdings
The Library Catalog has some features not available in Lens, including:
- Browse searching (the "Begins With" option), including a call number browse
- Advanced search features such as date limits, truncation, and limits to specific collections
- The ability to search non-roman languages (keyword search only)
Do not use the Library Catalog to search for articles. To find articles, use one of the Library's article databases.
